We would be remiss if we didn’t check in with Larry Chiang, notorious party crasher, hacker of startup life, founder of the Austin Secret Society of Entrepreneurs, and author of What They Don’t Teach You at Stanford Business School. We asked him for an update on what he’ll be doing during SXSW 2012.
What’s new Austin!!
I wanted to shoot some updates, insights, invites and greetings all y’all’s way. Asse9 is Austin Secret Society of Entrepreneurs. If you’re not hacking life, you’re asinine.
I added a new email address chiang9 @duck9.com. Phew!
Seriously, I want you to be curious about my momentum so u can get more value in this one pre SXSW blog post in AustinStartup. I do this by teasing you with entrepreneur ‘rabbit holes’. Leverage my momentum by going into the unknown by…
Copy Paste It
Chapter 2 of my video book is Copy Paste your way forward. I copy paste cite sourced my mentor’s book. See it at http://YouTube.com/larrychiang
Entrepreneur Jiu Jitsu
Benefit from a parade that is already going. Google “entreprener Jiu jitsu’”
Google Gua Gua Guacamole
Accelerate your startup because of it.
Yes it is a hack. Hack life like lines of computer code from the matrix. My column at Bloomberg BusinessWeek is most popular when I show people two steps beyond what all other VCs do with pattern recognition. I pattern replicate and help you pattern iterate.
NEWS: Raised a fund (err two)
Other VCs do seed. I do the sexier ‘pre-seed’.
I make entrepreneurs execute one Gua Gua Guacamole recipe before they get to pitch me. Oh and they have to blog it. See, I have this theory that 2-7 of my Gua Gua Guacamole entrepreneur recipes double your shareholder equity with no VC money. It’s my funds investment thesis.
I am gaming the system by having 600 undergrads in engineering learn these Gua Gua Guacamole recipes. And then help others pattern iterate. They will be my ad-hoc venture associates. Right now I have two… Math-wise, I have 598 to go. I will be lead generating young humans from college. Lead Gen is a job I’ve had since I was deans list in engineering at Urbana, Illinois.
Since last sxsw, I have regurgitated a book that Mark McCormack wrote into 14 chapters of non copyright protected content…
“What They Don’t Teach You at Stanford Business School”
I teach Lemonade Stands and Gua Gua Guacamole at a Stanford University class named ENGR 145.
Larry is Hosting 11 Events
At SXSW I am hosting you for 11 events. Ideally you’re in the startup community and curious about your transition from pre-entrepreneur to founder CEO…

Hint: pay special attention to Pop-Up Accelerator. It’s a mega reward to journey-ing down this rabbit hole far enough to see a $11k comp.
Pop-Up Accelerator is a 90 minute slot to launch your company in a real world location at the convention center
Welcome to the rabbit hole. I’m your 6′ 5″ Asian tour guide.
