To be totally honest, I hate email. Mostly because it’s a “To Do” list than anybody on earth can add to. And I don’t like other people telling me what to do. Considering that there are around 4 billion email boxes in the world today, there are too few tools that help you manage your inbox. One of them, OtherInBox, just reached a major milestone by hitting a million users. To celebrate, they’re giving away a free iPad2.
Company founder and CEO Josh Baer said, “It’s hard for me to believe that we’ve helped clear up more than a million email inboxes! It’s a great feeling to push out a new feature and realize the number of real people that it will impact.” Every tech company founder with a consumer website dreams of hitting a million users. It’s all about that little thing we call “traction.” It’s the favorite VC or angel investor question, “Do you have any traction with this idea?” How fun would it be to look them in the eye and say “we have over a million users?”
Baer continued, “Month after month, I’m impressed by how our team is able to manage the growth – keeping performance up while constantly lowering our cost per user. Our cloud computing bill today is about the same as it was one year ago with half as many users!”
The Austin Business Journal reports that OtherInbox has raised $4M in in angel investment since it’s launch at the SXSW conference two years ago.
