There is a fantastic new addition to SXSWi this year, and it’s named Accelerator. Every cool Web 2.0 company around wants to be “the buzz” at SXSW, or be known as the “it” company during SXSW. Well, now there is officially a vehicle to help get the right buzz for companies that are launching, or are launching new products. The event will be from 10a – 4p on the Monday of the festival. Right in the middle of Interactive, and at the beginning of Film.

The deadline for applying is Friday, January 16th. Application and selection info can be found here.

The application fee is $100, and you can nominate up to 5 products for your company.

Any company in the world can apply, but of course it would be great to have to best of what Austin has to offer on stage. Just to show them that our city rocks.
