Bazaarvoice, the market and technology leader in hosted social commerce applications that drive sales, today introduced Bazaarvoice QuickTake, a new social navigation tool that allows customers to more easily mine the opinions of other consumers in order to make the best purchase decisions. With QuickTake, shoppers can now access a quick-view summary of user-generated content related to that product – directly on the product detail page. This QuickTake summary includes average overall rating, as well as product dimensions and product pros and cons as tagged by other reviewers. Customers can simply click through on a pro or con tag to easily identify the most personally impactful reviews and gain a better, more relevant online shopping experience.
“Online businesses are increasingly merchandising with reviews, including the use of top-rated navigation to drive product exposure and sales,” said Brett Hurt, founder and CEO of Bazaarvoice. “QuickTake fuels social navigation with first-of-its kind user-generated content sorting via tags, maximizing the impact of reviewer profiles and review dimension data via navigation that is entirely created and controlled by the consumer. This is the type of consumer control and sorting that David Weinberger was talking about in his recent book Everything Is Miscellaneous and our clients are embracing the power of this to drive more sales.”
QuickTake is fully customizable for Bazaarvoice clients and can be easily integrated with existing reviews and review tags. A unique benefit is its ability to utilize product page links that will sort and display reviews based on a distinct tag. This can be a powerful tool to support product merchandising and advertising. For example, an advertisement merchandising an electronics product as “durable” could include a link to the related product page that sorts all reviews containing a high rating for “durability” to the top. The QuickTake capabilities and benefits compliment other Bazaarvoice social navigation technologies including ShoutIt!, which enables users to share a review, profile, or product on Facebook, Digg, or del.icio.us, and site search integration allowing users to navigate to user-generated content driven product categories, such as “Top Rated.”
“Working with Bazaarvoice has taught us that user-generated content and social navigation are a sure path to sales – when done right,” said Bliss Dake, Vice President of eCommerce & Operations at Mighty Leaf Tea, who switched to Bazaarvoice from a “free” ratings and reviews solution. “Bazaarvoice combines cutting-edge functionality with a team that really understands retail and marketing, and is willing to work hard to make sure that we get the most out of reviews on our site, in our marketing and in our search campaigns.”
