Indeed Surpasses Monster and Careerbuilder in Traffic

Every time I speak with Rony Kahan, co-founder of Indeed.com, it seems like they’re getting another million unique visitors to their site. September page views were over 120 million, according to Comscore, higher than Careerbuilder.com and almost double one of the top brands in the space, Monster.com. September marks the first month that Indeed has beaten every other job site on the web for traffic.

Not many people know that Indeed is funded by Union Square Ventures. USV is one of the most highly regarded Web 2.0 investors in the country, with investments in such companies as del.icio.us, FeedBurner, Twitter, and Etsy. USV Partner Fred Wilson is also one of the most well known bloggers in the tech and VC areas.

Indeed will be having a little private celebration party at a screening of the new James Bond movie Quantum of Solace on Friday. We’ve got a few tickets for you, but you’ll have to follow our Twitterstream @austinstartup if you want a chance to win the tickets.

  2. In the world of online recruiting, pageviews are not a very accurate measure of actual traffic. ComScore is widely recognized as the most accurate and unbiased measurement in the industry, and they track a much more accurate metric – UNIQUE VISITORS.

As of ComScore MediaMetrix’s October report, Indeed.com had 6.375M Unique Visitors to their site compared to 24.033M Unique Visitors to CareerBuilder and 13.248M Unique Visitors to Monster. While Indeed has certainly grown it’s UVs at a rapid rate over the last 6 months, it certainly has not caught up to the leaders in the industry in terms of actual traffic.
