I received several messages via social networks about BazaarVoice opportunities through the campaign. It was well executed and I'm glad it worked so well. As I saw this happening, I saw plain links being sent directing the traffic. I was curious what additional insight into the social networking experiment would have been available if they had used BudURL.com to send out the links. Then they could have seen where the traffic spread, which social network generated the most referrals, and where the messages may have spread beyond the initial posts.

Just a thought!

Bravo to Bazaarvoice on once again proving that they are kings of word of mouth!

Great post! Absolutely, social media works for recruiting. The Bazaarvoice example is terrific. Something else to consider-- the quality of applicants. Social media has a "personal referral" element that helps you find more qualified applicants. Here's a link to our own story of how we found a hard-to-find social media marketer http://keppiecareers.wordpress.com/2008/09/24/using-twitter-to-hire-the-employers-perspective/
