Indeed LogoOne of the problems with searching through the vast amount of jobs on Indeed.com is that only 10% of employers post salary ranges for their advertised positions. It’s probably one of the things that makes The Ladders popular. Today Indeed announced that you can now search using the existing keywords and locations, and salary. In the advanced search area, there is new search criteria for salary. The algoirthm uses salary survey information in major markets and keywords in job postings to create an estimate of the salary for a position that doesn’t have a salary posted. It is just an estimate, but it will definitely make it easy to filter out positions that people definitely are not interested in.

The story was covered by TechCrunch today, which should boost their traffic this week. Not that traffic has been a problem for Indeed. Their website received over 7 million unique users in the month of March, which is more than double for the same month last year.

Indeed.com runs the Jobs functions here on AustinStartup (check the menu bar), where postings are only $45.
