On the same day that Dell closed its acquisition of MessageOne, rumors are swirling about another potential acquisition by the computing giant. The target: Radio Shack.

Barry Shlacter at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram covered this story, linking the increase in option activity on shares of Radio Shack to the speculation that Dell would acquire the retailer to expand its footprint in the retail marketplace beyond the kiosks at malls. The idea of a Dell takeover of RadioShack was first suggested in a BusinessWeek column a year ago but hasn’t been embraced by everyone. Austin Startup readers – any insight into this potential deal?
