Blog Happenings

The transition to WordPress has largely been a good one. We’ve been able to do a lot more things on the blog, and there’s more coming.

Technorati
In the right hand bar there is a link that says “Add this blog to my Technorati favorites.” If you like the blog, please consider making us a favorite. It will raise our profile, increase our credibility, and make the blog better. Click here to make us a favorite.

Calendar
Click on the calendar tab to see various tech-related events in Austin. We’re getting more up every week. If you have suggestions for good events, please send them to us courtesty of the editor email address at austinstartup.com. We’re trying to post items from Austin Tech Happy Hour, the Austin Technology Incubator, Bootstrap Austin, and Texchange.

Jobs
We’ve been working with Indeed.com to offer some great functions for you. We’re pulling Austin Tech jobs in the widget on the sidebar, but you can click on the jobs tab to do a job search in the massive Indeed network. We’re also offering job postings for $45 (way cheaper than other services). Your posting will show up on all the websites in the Indeed network. We’ll also feature your job posting right here on the blog!

Google Ads
You may have noticed a Google ad bar on the blog. Contrary to popular opinion putting Adsense on your blog is not the path to wild riches, but it does get Google to index and cache your site more often, making it rank higher in searches.

That’s all for now. As usual please send all your news, tips, and stories to the editor!
