Crystal

We usually don’t write about public companies in Austin, but at the Consumer Electronics Show Dell just announced a pretty cool new monitor. It’s called the Dell Crystal and it’s a 22″ wide screen monitor. As you can see from the screenshot it’s got four speakers built-in to the display. I’m assuming the capacitive touch is for montrol controls only (brightness, contrast, etc).It looks like Dell is starting to try some plays from the Apple playbook in terms of aesthetics. We’ll see how it works out for them.

The folks over at Gizmodo just got theirs. PC Magazine also has some things to say about it. To only display 1680×1050 for $1200 is a crime though.
