Apollo Endosurgery Raises Capital

We are always on the lookout for other technology companies in Austin that are focused on cleantech, biotech, and nanotech, to help expand our definition of the technology business in Austin. So it’s great to see some funding news from Apollo Ensosurgery today and a feature in the Statesman. The company looks like they spun some research out of UT Medical Branch and have been waiting for some funding to help bring it all to market. PTV Sciences has been backing the company from the start, and how H.I.G. has joined them.

PTV Sciences has offices in Houston and Austin. As we’ve been searching the news for funding of life sciences company in Austin, PTV is behind pretty much every one of them.

  2. These guys really suck. Crap product. Getting killed by J&J who has already passed on buying them I am told. Went from VC backing to relying on political patronage government grants. Stay away.
