At last night’s Austin Tech Happy Hour it was amazing to see such a great group of Austin’s top tech people in the same place at the same time. Andrew Busey from Oxygen Games took time to stop by, which is amazing given the massive web traffic their first game Duels has been getting after making the front page of Digg. Rony Kahan, co-founder of Indeed.com and provider of our job search widget, enjoyed networking with the group as well. David Altounian took time away from growing iTaggit to come say hello. It was also great to talk with Harvey Ring, Steve Vandegrift, Ben Bentzin, Alisha and Soozie from the Austin Technology Council, and all the great folks from companies like ItzBig, EduSpark, Apogee, and NxEdge.
Celite Milbrandt and Saf Asghar from Slacker.com took some time away from trying to get their personal portable music device out the door to come and network. If you’re a hardware person and you want to work for one of the hottest startups in town, Saf is looking for an awesome software engineer that knows embedded linux. You should be familiar with ARM/MiPs architecture, and have the usual CS or EE educational pedigree, along with a comfort level writing device drivers, and optimizing code in a real-time environment. If that’s you, contact Saf directly via email at saf at slacker [dot com].
Thanks again to Compass Learning for sponsoring the event. Pictures being posted on the website next week.
I’m sorry I missed this event. I bet I might have gotten more content for my blog.
